Why this matters

Backlogs are growing. Your options don’t have to shrink.

FixxTheBacklog is a nonprofit initiative created by immigrants and allies. We translate complex immigration rules into clear, practical options—especially for people stuck in lines, facing delays, or unsure if they still qualify.

Your answers help us match you with the right guide so you don’t waste months chasing dead ends—or miss windows you didn’t know you had.

What you’ll get inside

  • Plain-language breakdown of key work visa and self-petition categories (no legal jargon).
  • Concrete eligibility signals: red flags and green flags based on where you live, work, and study.
  • Step-by-step checklist so you know what to prepare before talking to any lawyer.
  • Know-your-rights scripts if you’re stopped, questioned, or facing sudden paperwork demands.
  • Community stories from immigrants who used similar paths to move their cases forward.

Important: We are not a law firm and this is not legal advice. Our guides are educational tools to help you ask better questions and understand your options.

How it works

Two simple steps to get connected

We keep it lightweight on purpose. Answer a few questions, get your guide, then decide if you want to join our immigrant support community.

Step 1: Request your guide

Tell us whether you’re more interested in work visa / self-petition paths or in knowing your rights in stressful situations. Share a few basics so the guide feels made for you.

Step 2: Check your inbox

We’ll email you a secure link to your Immigration Loophole or Know Your Rights guide. Save it, print it, or share it with someone you trust.

Step 3: Join community (optional)

On the thank-you page, you’ll see an invite to our private community space—where immigrants share resources, and volunteer advocates host Q&A sessions.

Questions immigrants ask us most

Your situation is unique, but you’re not alone. Start with these answers, then use our community to go deeper.

Is FixxTheBacklog a law firm?

No. FixxTheBacklog is a nonprofit project focused on education and community support. We do not provide legal representation. Our checklists, guides, and community discussions are for informational purposes only and are not a substitute for legal advice from a licensed attorney.

Will you share my information with the government or immigration agencies?

No. We do not share your personal responses with government agencies or immigration enforcement. We only use your answers internally to improve our guides and understand what immigrants are facing. You can request deletion of your data at any time.

Does this cost anything?

No. The Immigration Loophole and Know Your Rights guides are free. Our work is supported by donations and volunteers so people in the backlog can access high-quality information without additional financial strain.

What happens after I get the guide?

You’ll get a link to join our online community, where you can connect with others in similar situations, attend live workshops, and hear from volunteer advocates. Joining the community is optional and you can leave at any time.

Step 2 · Community invitation

You’re in. Now, don’t face the backlog alone.

Your guide is on its way to your inbox. While you wait, join our private FixxTheBacklog community—safe space for immigrants navigating the system, with volunteers answering questions live.

Includes live Q&A calls, step-by-step workshops, and real stories from people fighting the same backlog you are.
